The Department of Education allows students to apply certain types of Title IV financial assistance toward “short-term programs” which meet several specific criteria. These include that the program provides at least 300 but less than 600 clock hours of instruction during a minimum of 10 weeks of instruction; and that it have verified completion and placement rates of at least 70%. Your Financial Aid office will have information about whether or not your institution offers any such programs.
