Where do I find these numbers?

Your institution’s cohort default rate is calculated annually by the U.S. Department of Education and released directly to your institution in the late summer. Draft rates are released each year in February. The Department of Education releases not just the rate itself, but also the numbers used in the formula to generate that rate. The formula’s denominator represents the number of borrowers in repayment during a given cohort timespan.
